Day 15: People around me

so today i opened my email inbox and got the following:

• Amazon is offering a good referreal deal for downloads of mp3
• WIA is giving a fair warning for infringement of copyright laws. (I'm pretty sure i'm safe because so far i did not "copy any content or reveal any techniques in your reviews" now have i?) If you feel i had, please, for our sake and for the other wonderful readers of this blog, let me know so that this blog can still go on without me getting into trouble.
• Victor had provided me with the script of his landing page for me to check against mine
• Victor had decided that ***********(name of product is unfortunately withheld at the moment to keep it within a protected market) which was introduced to him and I by Jeffrey is a worthy product.
• Jeffrey has agreed to put me as a "pre-enroller" for that particular product

Other than that, I got these to update you guys with:

• I have recieved good comments for my blog from people! Eg Zulhairi , Campmate while in National Service, Elfi, my insurance agent and business partner-to-be in time to come (he's also a friend by the way), Nabil, a secondary school friend who was a skeptic of IMB, Nadira, an encouraging friend, Nasruddin, a friend who has started marketing items online before me. and many more!

• i intend to do the same with Elfi

So for now, my No. 1 thing to do currently is remedy my thank you page!

Day 14(i think) : Domain, Landing Page, New Product.

alright.

i've managed to activate 2 domains. and i've created a landing page for each domain for the time being. the one i will be focusing on is http://www.salman-onlinesolutions.com/. from this domain, i intend to branch out with more landing page, focusing to sell items through these landing pages. currently i have 2 landing pages. what is running, meaning it's working fine if you enter the URL. but, there's something wrong with the other the landing page. what i'm doing with that landing page is to test out a page whereby interested visitors can submit their name and email and in turn an autoresponder system will be activated and they will be redirected to a "Thank you" page. Right now the problem i'm having is that thank you page does not appear once an email is submitted, and hence the autoresponder is not working right.

well so what i did is to send a ticket to the support group again to ask about that this time.

on another note, there has been more exchanges of emails through the IMB googlegroup. and man, some people really dish out "tough love". there was 2 separate views. one says there must be "planning before execution", while another says there is also good in "shoot first, aim later".anyways something that i need to think about that one of the IMBers mentioned is to "cut your losses". i really am receiving lotsa clicks so i really need to start considering pausing some of the ads at some time.

lastly, i went for this short presentation introduced by a fellow IMBer regarding an online product. it's really not bad of a product. i just really am low on cashflow at the moment to go for it. besides i supposed i can take the time to find out further about the product before signing up for it. it's quite a coincidence too that this online product was introduced to me because i had been wondering of an item to sell that has demand. and this product do have a demand i believe.

Day 13: entering "The Proper Landing Page Method"

okay.

so today to me is not the most productive of days. i mean im just facing technical problems basically. but still, there's an increase to my earnings! yeahoo!!! here look:


anyways, i was trying to upload the webpage that i've created using a new domain name. but the domain name couldn't be found or i don't exactly know what's the problem. so what i did i checked the hosting or the DNS whatever you call it. the domain name has the server name correct, but i think it must be because that domain is still not linked yet to the hosting account. i really don't know the solution. heck i don't exactly understand yet how it's supposed to work. so what i did next was i sent a ticket to post a question regarding my problem to the support group. hopefully they do reply. otherwise i'll james or hakeem. X-D

on another, my search engine as another form of adsense in this blog should be working already. so that's great too.

well as always, there's quite a number of exchanges of emails through the googlegroup Frederick has created of us IMBers. but i found the following to be a really crucial tip:

"for e.g if you are promoting canon tx1, so the keywords you have would be canon tx1 board phrase and exact. no need to put other keywords like canon digital camera because by putting all this unneccessary keywords wil lalso bring up your impressions and also will affect your ctr"

Day 13: Earnings keep coming

LOL! it's not big. but it's definitely coming in! like i've mentioned before, amazon will probably be paying me for the items that have been ordered once after it's shipped. and sure enough that's exactly what happened!

haha so i've decided that whatever i wrote up in the previous post and whatever was my concern or worry, to hell with it! haha 'cos i'm sticking to what i'm doing. only adjustments that i'll be doing is the daily budget. because what i understand is that the daily budget does not affect the ad position, it only affects the number of impressions and hence the number of clicks per day. but because i am concerned with my ad positions and my budget, i think that is just the solution for me.

and on another note, i have decided, i'll be open with how much money i'm making and how much loss i'm making. this way, others can learn from my mistakes too. this blog is not just about 100% positive things that happened in this journey of mine. surely there are ups and downs in business. and because this is my journal, this is where i'll pen down my earnings and losses for myself and others to see.

so up to date:

• charges for domains : USD $20
• total charges for PPC ads: USD $102.28
• total earnings: USD $5.89

gawsh can you believe my total chargers for PPC ad campaigns?? LOL. i know it's pretty discouraging for some. but heck. i'm gonna keep on going! i just need to do my current earnings for just another 20 more times lol....

Day 12: the 1st group study

alright so i just came back from the study group consisting of 10 people, namely:

it was great definitely. had an idea where some of us are at with this internet marketing journey. and got pointers too. like how to upload a webpage or a landing page. cause i kinda have forgotten how to do that. well i just need to remember that 1 page requires 1 folder for it to work. so i actually already have a proper landing page (not the blogspot), so all i need to do next is just uploading it. so that's that for now.

and on another note, my conversation with maya and hakeem kinda got me thinking am i making a mistake by having high priced item for ppc campaigns, and to make it worse, i have quite a few running at the same time? am i making too much of a loss because of the increasing clicks but no sale yet? i wonder if there are others who are doing what i'm doing, because what maya is doing is picking a low cost item and testing out if her campaigns are working. that way, even though if there is no sale, the total cost that she might need to pay for the clicks is still not so high. unlike mine. i know now i did jumped straight into selling a few high-priced items. wonder if that was a mistake.

hmmz i wonder i wonder.

Day 12 : MY FIRST EARNINGS!!

OMG! i didn't realise it but i have actually already made my first earnings through amazon! and the best part, it's been 2 items in total! LOL!!! haha but wait, actually that's not the best part. the best part is that the items are not those that i'm promoting! i got referral earnings because the buyers came from my page!! LOL!! haha.... okay the earnings is not big but i'm totally psyched. here, i'll show how much i've earned:

yeap it's not alot. but i don't care! it's my first! LOL! and hey there's more to come, amazon says ive got a total of 6 items ordered through me but the remaining 4 items have not been shipped so i'm thinking i'll probably be earning from 4 more. wowee!! here look:

okay then! i'm doing fine! i was beginnning to wonder when will i see results of my earnings.

Day 11 - "Landing Page"

so i've created a "Landing Page" using blogger to promote another product. at the same time for that landing page or that product i've also created an ad campaign for it using ppc. oh the product by the way is B&H Capsules. Well that Landing Page has all the things that i had planned for except the sitemeter. i shall leave that for later because i'm quite drained out now.

On another note, i've received an email from Google indicating that my adsense application has been approved. but it might take me quite some time if my blog has not been crawled by google.
so yeap can't wait for the adsense to start working.

can't wait for tomorrow's study group by the way, wondering how the others are progressing.

oh and one more thing, i found out about odiogo but wondering if i should be using it. frederick suggested it, you can check it out at his blog.

Day 11: Entering into Landing Page

i have decided since my progress in PPC is kinda slowing down, i'm going into other things. To be precise, creating a landing page for a product that i have found. I will be using either blogspot or wordpress to create this landing page. just like what james is doing. and the reason i'm doing so is because i think it would take me a much longer time to create a new landing page from scratch, since i'm already quite familiar with blogger. wordpress i have not gone there before at all. and because i haven't gone into creating a proper autoresponder system, i will just be leaving my contacts like my mobile number and my email on that landing page. i supposed you can call that an integrated on-line and off-line marketing. we shall see where that will go.

so the upcoming steps for me:
1) creating a new blogger account to be used as a landing page.
2) obtaining information and materials for that landing page. (eg. pictures of the product.)
3) setting up of that landing page which will include product info, a call to action (my contacts), a shout out box, and a sitemeter.

so that's all.


and oh, by the way, i've made more progress in my blog as you can see. i've got
1) the counter
2) the sitemeter
3) a shout-out box.
4) and i've also put a link on my friendster to this blog. (i'm hoping that's going to help me in improving this blog's pagerank.)
all these i've never done before you see, so i'm pretty positive with my progress.

end of Day 10: Signed up for ADSENSE

5 new campaigns. 5 fresh starts. 2nd week. over $50 spent.
it's a new week, a new start. i shall keep on going!!!! YEAH!!!!! wahaha....

anyways on a serious note now, i just want to inform that i just added adsense into my blogspot. so i can't wait for their email to complete the process. that'd be one more new source of income. YEAH BABY!! lol... aight. i'm getting slow in my progress. need to take a step back and rethink probably. stay tuned people!

Day 10: Re-organising my Ad Campaigns

yesterday up to this morning was pretty frustrating for me. i was using my laptop to do my internet marketing stuffs since my brother was using the computer. my laptop is freaking slow compared to what we're all so used to. anyways what really got me frustrated was that it ate into the time where google was doing updates for adwords. and blogger(i think). I was creating a new ad campaign but it couldn't be saved. same thing happened to a post i had wrote up. both couldn't be saved and couldn't be registered. so what the hell i had to redo everything somewhere after noon time.

well i've made a few realisations so that's why i've made changes to my ad campaigns. i've decided that having different items under one ad campaign isn't really convenient especially in terms of monitoring it. and i also thought it helps in organising negative keywords. so now i have more ad campaigns instead of more adgroups under 1 campaign. i've taken out HKS Alpine, and the Diamond ring and replaced them with a BenQ Projector and a Weber Grill instead. today will be like the first day again. waiting for impressions and clicks. that's fine with me because i'm totally for trying out what works. i've also started to make use of the adpreview tool.
